G. Rejlander, Julia argaret Cameron and Lewis Carroll. Firstly, this paper summarizes former critics’ points about Hawarden’s photographs to categorize them into four important features: 1) absence of narratives, 2) duality or being a pair, 3) depiction of transition from adolescence to womanhood, 4) confinement and being on the border.
